Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries Limited has set up electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure at its Mumbai campus.
The company has told the employees that they will be able to charge their vehicles free of cost in this charging area.
The Human Resource (HR) department of the company on Wednesday sent an e-mail to its employees informing that the Jio-BP Pulse EV charging area has been created at the Reliance Corporate Park (RCP).
The company said that employees will have to register through the ‘Jio-BP Pulse Charge’ mobile app to charge their electric vehicles for free.
The QR code on the charging unit needs to be scanned to initiate the EV charging session.More 48000 electric vehicle chargers are about to be installed in the country!
By the financial year 2024-25, 13-15% of new vehicle sales in the two-wheeler category will be electric, more than 30% in the three-wheeler category and 8-10% in the bus category will be electric.
The report says that there are currently less than 2,000 public charging stations in the country and most of them are also in select states and mainly in urban areas.
