In the most recent episode of reality TV series Lock Upp, contender and stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui got serious about sexual abuse he had to face as a young child.
Between the task, in which Saisha Shinde needed to persuade one regarding her co-candidates to share confidential, she asked Faruqui and he concurred.
He recounted that he was six years old and was abused for years. He added, “They were my relatives, two of them and it continued for 4-5 years. I would not understand at the time.
It was close family. It went on for 4-5 years and got extreme in the fourth year. Then they realised they should stop it.”
Following this miserable disclosure, Kangana applauded Faruqui for his forthrightness and boldness and said individuals normally try not to talk about such things on open gatherings.
She also said that everybody goes through some kind of inappropriate behaviour as a child. She then proceeded to talk about her own encounters of sexual maltreatment.
Every contestant is controversial in one way or another, and that is what landed them a place in the show. The whole thing is overseen by host Kangana and the jailor Karan Kundrra.
