Lal Bahadur Shastri was the second Prime Minister of India. His famous slogan was “Jai Jawan Jai Kisan” which means “Hail the soldier, Hail the farmer.

Today is marked as Lal Bahadur Shastri's death anniversary, he died on 11 January 1966 at the age of 61 years. Lal Bahadur Shastri was born on October 2, 1904, at Mughalsarai.

He increased the production of milk supply and food grain by promoting the White Revolution and Green Revolution in India.

 He joined the Indian Independence Movement in 1920. He participated with great endeavor in Mahatma Gandhiji's non-cooperation movement and also went jail for the same.

When he was a kid,  he used to swim the Ganges twice a day just to go to the school and with books tied on the top of his head. He had to hussle a lot to complete his education.
