Elon Musk has declared that he is purchasing Manchester United Plc, a British football team.
In a series of tweets, the Tesla CEO asserted that he backed both the right and left halves of the Democratic and Republican parties.
Musk is a frequent Twitter user who has a history of trolling the media and making jokes about them. The media pays great attention to what he says.
Musk was replying to his tweet that said, "To be clear, I support the left half of the Republican Party and the right half of the Democratic Party!"
Musk wrote the same on Twitter on the day he was due to attend a fundraiser for top US House of Representatives Republican Kevin McCarthy.
Now, Musk has confirmed that he was joking when he said he was going to buy English soccer club Manchester United.
"No, this is a long-running joke on Twitter. I’m not buying any sports teams," Musk said, when asked by a user if he was serious about buying the club.
